On my thinkpad laptop the mouse arrow keeps becoming a scroll bar instead of an arrow. I have reinstalled Windows afresh and it is still happening. I did see a post that showed I should untick the mouse option 'hide mouse arrow while typing' which sort of worked but I am still seeing the issue a lot and it sometimes stops the mouse arrow working completely. Is this a driver issue? Can I disable thew driver somehow? Do I need a new mousepad?

OK so in the end it was an easy fix, just not quite the one I had tried - just do this:

Use the start menu search for mouse and find change the mouse pointer display or speed

t480mouse2.png You have insufficient rights to see the content.

When you are at this page tab:
t480mouse1.png You have insufficient rights to see the content.

untick Enable Trackpad

And the problems should be gone but the mouse and trackpad still work fine..?
