Is there a way I can stop an Exchange mailbox export?

I am going to run out of space and I want to stop it

The remove-mailboxexportrequest does not seem to interrupt the process.

you can use suspend-mailboxexportrequest and then remove-mailboxexportrequest to get rid of it altogether.
