When trying to login to an HP prodesk with Windows 7 Pro I have to wait 30 seconds for a non-existent fingerprint reader every time I login before I see the user icon to login with.

If I try and run HP client security to disable this feature it tells me 'The value does not fall within the expected range' when typing in the Windows password???

But that is definitely the password.

There is no other account, I login as the Administrator

What can I do?

Remove all of the HP fingerprint software or shutdown the services with MSConfig

It must be a service that starts up before login so it would be best to try disabling everything to do with HP biometrics to see what is causing the problem.
