Yes you can.
You will need to activate using the phone services option if you have not done so far. This will still work for Windows XP.
You may need to update to the Pro version and it will need service pack three to work properly.
You will also need to download the Hyper-V 2008 vmguest from here:
https://www.sircles.net/downloads/vmguest.zip which you can then insert as a DVD iso using the menu.
This will allow mouse and network toi function as normal. If the VM keeps asking for files to install hardware, just cancel through until the integration services finds the virtual mouse and network software. Once online you can download any other drivers you need.
