Just to explain, you cannot do this. Windows Hyper-V version 8 and before use XML files to explain to Windows where everything goes in both exports and live VMs. Version 9 onwards use VMCX files and various other specialist files, so the Windows 2016 system will just not see the VM. You may be able to convert the VMCX file to XML somehow but we have not seen this yet. If you only have VHD or VHDX files you can make a new VM and just connect the disks, with a AVHDX you will need to import the disk using the edit virtual disk features and choosing merge.
