Outlook for Mac 16.15 keeps asking for Office 365 credentials

I have an email account that was moved into Office 365 and I am experiencing problems with authentication.

The dialogue box for the login appears over and over even though the credentials are accepted as correct.

This version of Office has been made end of life.

In other words, spend more money
