Windows Backup on Server 2008 R2 stuck after replacing disks

We have replaced all of the server disks using cloning software and now experience a problem with accessing the Windows backup interface:

Will this ever complete or do we need to find a way to reset the Windows Server Backup settings to default?

OK so we may have outgrown the backup solution provided by Windows in this case as we are now seeing the following:

volumes larger than 2088958 megabytes cannot be protected

Is this a setting in the registry or is it a hard-coded limit?

OK I shrunk the drives below 2TB as they were pretty empty anyway and we can now backup fine.

I suppose it will be time to upgrade to 2019 before we need to do much else.

NB the backup still failed with a message: the system writer is not found in the backup

I had to restart the cryptographic services again to get it working, and then data started to copy to the iSCSI disk in Windows Backup OK.
