Is this just a pause whilst an update is in progress or is it more serious?

This is a driver issue being reported by the Device Setup Manager service.

It looks like TERMINPUT_BUS\UMB\2&2C22BCC9&0&SESSION8MOUSE0 is referring to a UMBus Root Bus Enumerator device - a mouse presumably.

Open Device Manager as an administrative user and find the UMBus Root Bus Enumerator under the System devices, right-click this item and choose 'update drivers' and see if it will download an update for the device. If it does, try rebooting your computer to see if the event ID persists.
