Hello,

I am trying to reset my microsoft Surface laptop with a system recovery disk but...

In the video here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4023512/surface-creating-and-using-a-usb-recovery-drive#Download

I'm told to hold down 'Volume Down' switch before I press the power button at boot but my surface laptop has no volume switch????

What can I do to make this laptop listen to the recovery USB drive?

I didn't need to use the volume button in the end, it was an option nonetheless.

I should add though that you do not click 'Advanced>Troubleshoot>Recover Windows from a System image'

You just select the USB drive as the option and the system gives you an option to use the connected recovery drive after you have selected yoru keyboard type...
