Windows Backup on Server 2008 R2 stuck after replacing disks We have replaced all of the server disks using cloning software and now experience a problem with accessing the Windows backup interface: Will this ever complete or do we need to find a way to reset the Windows Server Backup settings to default? Thanks \:d/

OK so we may have outgrown the backup solution provided by Windows in this case as we are now seeing the following: volumes larger than 2088958 megabytes cannot be protected Is this a setting in the registry or is it a hard-coded limit?

OK I shrunk the drives below 2TB as they were pretty empty anyway and we can now backup fine. I suppose it will be time to upgrade to 2019 before we need to do much else.

NB the backup still failed with a message: the system writer is not found in the backup I had to restart the cryptographic services again to get it working, and then data started to copy to the iSCSI disk in Windows Backup OK.
