We were seeing this in the event log: Log Name: Application Source: HP StorageWorks Network Storage System Verification Date: 2/16/2020 10:22:50 PM Event ID: 257 Task Category: None Level: Error Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: NAS.domain.local Description: The server you are running cannot run HP StorageWorks Network Storage System software properly. You may be in violation of your license agreement. Please contact HP support immediately if you think this message is displayed in error. The server is shutting down. Event Xml: 257 2 0 0x80000000000000 661201 Application NAS.domain.local Which was the result of some sort of license corruption on the HP software - which we did not ever really use. The server restarted every 10 minutes because of this certainty it suddenly had that it was not an HP server after all. We had to go into MSConfig and disable all non Microsoft services and drivers and stop all start-up items and then restart. We then ran a 2012R2 server install to overwrite the system in case any other Windows bits were HP'd, but this was probably overkill. It did not restart again after we used MSConfig to cease all services, processes and drivers.
